AI in accounting refers to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, such as machine learning algorithms and natural language processing, to automate and enhance various accounting processes. This includes tasks such as financial reporting, audit and compliance, fraud detection, and data analysis.

Artificial Intelligence has undoubtedly revolutionized the accounting systems, offering enhanced efficiency, accuracy, and data analysis capabilities and other significant advantages, some of which are summarised below:

1. Impact on accounting systems

Accounting systems can automate repetitive tasks, such as data entry and invoice processing, which can save valuable time for the accountants and eventually reduce administration costs of a Company. 

In addition, the use of Al through leveraging machine learning algorithms, can continuously learn and improve its accuracy over time, ensuring more reliable financial reporting and reduced risk of human errors. This will assist the Chief Financial Officer to communicate financial information to the company’s shareholders and all other interested parties more precisely.
