Accounting Operations Manager

General Description

On behalf of our client, a key player in the courier, shipping, and logistic industry with more than 30 years of experience, we are seeking to recruit a professional individual for the position of the Accounting Operations Manager, to be based in Nicosia.


Reports to


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management accounts and other financial reports and provide suggestions for corrective action where needed.
  • Prepares budgets and forecasts and related variance analysis reports.
  • Ensures timely tax payments and tax returns preparation in compliance with the local legislation.
  • Assists in the costing of products when needed.
  • Reviews, establishes, implements, and maintains effective accounting procedures as well as internal controls.
  • Ensures compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Facilitates the implementation for cost efficient practices and provide direction so as to drive the Company’s financial productivity.
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and accounting team and provide guidance and support to ensure maximum performance.
  • Reviews invoices issued to clients, suppliers, and associates to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitors the reconciliation of creditors and debtors and related bank statements.
  • Processes and monitor all accounts payable and accounts receivable and take appropriate action.
  • Liaises with various departments as needed, discussing various company plans and activities. 
  • Manages relationships with third parties (External advisors, local authorities, banks etc.).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or any other related field.
  • Professional qualification ACA / ACCA / CPA will be considered as an advantage.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of related experience, preferably in the Shipping / Logistics sectors.
  • Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cyprus tax principles.
  • Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer literacy, including exposure with computerized accounting software.
